About Me

I was born in the 50's, the second child in a family of five children and the oldest girl. My sisters love to introduce me as their 'older' sister, but considering our parents had five children in seven years, that isn't saying much.

I had a simple childhood growing up on a farm in North Alabama. I married shortly after graduating high school and had six children (three in Heaven and three presently on Earth). When I found myself divorced after 29 years of marriage with only one teenager still at home, I didn't really know what to do with myself since I had made a career as a homemaker. I entered the work force and struggled to find my way as a single woman.

Led by the Lord through the teachings of my Pastor David Platt at The Church at Brook Hills (Birmingham, AL) to take a mission trip to Guatemala, I found my calling in life. This blog is about the journey--first of all with My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and how he brought me to where I am today. I have a passion and heart for teaching and training women, especially those less fortunate who struggle to make a living. It is my prayer that by joining my journey, you will be encouraged to live a life that is wholly pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ and to find your place of service in the Kingdom.
